All Romance (ARe) Closing

I’m sure that by now you’re already aware of the fact that All Romance Ebooks will be shutting down at midnight on December 31st. The authors and readers were only given 3 days notice of this. That’s insulting enough but what’s really insulting is the joke of a payout they are offering the authors for 4th quarter royalties.

.10 on the dollar.

Yes, you read that right. For every dollar in royalties earned the authors will only get a dime. Readers have already paid full price for the books but every bit of that money, with the exception of a dime on each dollar, will be kept by the powers that be at ARe. Tell me, how is that fair? It’s not. Authors published books on the site believing we’d be paid what we’re rightfully owed. Readers purchased the books believing they were getting the product they paid for and that the authors would actually get paid for that book. It’s not our fault that they are having financial problems. We did our part in good faith. It’s not fair that we should be getting screwed over because of poor financial planning on their part.

The 4th quarter of 2016 has been my most successful since I started publishing in April of 2014, with a majority of those sales being on All Romance. So, I’m looking at losing quite a bit in royalties if I agree with the measly .10 on the dollar that they insultingly expect us to accept.

I won’t accept it and because I won’t I can likely kiss all my royalties for October, November, and December goodbye. They threw out bankruptcy if we don’t accept the crappy settlement offer so personally I don’t see me or any of the other authors getting any of the money owed to us.

There was no talk or even hints of All Romance shutting down. As recent as this week they were sending out advertising emails to authors and publishers trying to drum up advertising revenue for 2017. Are the authors and publishers who paid for advertising losing that money too? I’m going to guess yes because of the way all this has been handled.

I’m angry, as I’m sure you can probably tell.

All of my books have been removed from the ARe site. I chose to remove them early because it was made clear in the email sent to us that they considered the royalty period to have ended on December 27th. This is December 28th so I’m guessing any purchases made between now and the 31st will have all $$$ going to the site and not the authors who wrote the books.

With that being said –

If you’ve purchased any of my books on All Romance, and have been unable to download them, email me a copy of your purchase receipt for the book (s) and let me know what format you want and I’ll send the book to you. It’s not your fault the owners of ARe decided to screw everyone over and I damn sure wouldn’t want you to lose a book of mine that you rightfully paid for.

Send the receipt (s) to I promise to get the book (s) to you as soon as I can.

I had typed an end of the year post but I’ll be holding off on publishing that for a few days. All of this with ARe hit all of a sudden and I’m still trying to deal, as I know a lot of other authors are as well.

I hope you all had a great Christmas. I’ll catch up with you soon. Promise. πŸ™‚

Until next time,

Goodreads M/M Romance Member’s Choice Awards

I’m thrilled to announce that Evan the Virgin Reindeer & His Sexy Buck has been nominated in the Best Humorous category in the 2016 Goodreads M/M Romance Member’s Choice Awards. Yay! I had no idea the story had been nominated until a kind reader sent me a message on Goodreads and pointed me in the right direction. The story is up against some pretty heavy hitters but I’m thrilled that someone was kind enough to nominate it. If you’re a member of the group I hope you’ll check it out, even if you don’t vote for ‘Evan’. Polls close at 11:59 PM Eastern Time on December 31st, 2016.

Thank you to everyone who has embraced my kooky Christmas world!

Thank You!

Thank you to everyone who helped make all three books in the ‘Willy the Kinky Elf’ world bestsellers on ARe over the Thanksgiving weekend. I’m always happy when one of my books gets that little bestseller star next to it at All Romance. For all three to get them at once means more than you all can know. Willy the Kinky Elf & His Bad-Ass Reindeer was originally published two years ago. Evan the Virgin Reindeer & His Sexy Buck was published one year ago. Both of those stories have done extremely well since Blake the Rogue Reindeer & His Cocky Human was published. Don’t get me wrong, the series has been wonderful for me and has developed quite a following since the first one was published. However, this past weekend blew me away. There are no words for what it means to me that you guys have embraced my crazy holiday world. I don’t know if you can imagine how it felt to see all three books at the top of the gay erotica homepage on ARe as bestsellers in that category. Of five books at the top of that page three were mine. I’m thrilled and thankful to every single person who has purchased the books.

If you celebrated Thanksgiving I hope you enjoyed your time with your family and friends. For the first time ever during a major holiday I was out of town. It was an exhausting trip but I really enjoyed my time away. I’m trying to play catch-up now.

I hope you’re all doing well.Β Thank you all again for making my Willy series a bestseller. I’m still pretty stoked over it. πŸ˜‰

Until next time,

Thanksgiving, Football, Sale, This & That

I’ve gotten quite a few new followers – here and on social media – over the past few weeks so I want to say thank you! I’m not very good about typing blog posts, though I do try. 2016 has been a difficult year for me in the real world for a variety of reasons and that keeps me away from here as well. I won’t bore you with the details but reading my last blog post will give you a bit of an idea of what’s been going on in my life. I will say that 2017 can’t get here soon enough.

Hey, I published a book. πŸ™‚ Β I know, I know, I annoyed the heck out of you guys about Blake the Rogue Reindeer & His Cocky Human and then kinda disappeared on release day. While I already suck at self-promo, I do have a couple of valid excuses for not pushing the story more when it was officially released. There was a medical emergency with my mother Halloween night and then other issues arose in the following days that I’m still dealing with. I kinda feel like I’m in a fog, to be honest. I’ll be fine, but writing and reading – two things I’ve always done – have taken a backseat. I’m hoping to get back on track with everything soon.

Thanksgiving officially starts the holiday season in America. Normally I do a lot of baking and the family converges on my home. This, after going to the in-laws for lunch earlier in the day. This year will be different. My husband is working out of town so I won’t be doing the family thing at my house. My youngest has to work that day, which sucks, but we celebrated early with a nice lunch a few days ago. I’ll be traveling to see my husband and my two older sons for the holiday. If you all celebrate I hope you have a wonderful day with your family and friends.

iron_bowl_logoThe Saturday after is a big football game for my ‘Bama boys. We play our biggest rival, Auburn, and that’s always a nail biter. Those who’ve been with me from the beginning know I’m a huge Alabama Crimson Tide fan and this is my favorite time of the year. You’ve never experienced anything until you’ve experienced my state during the Alabama/Auburn game, also known as the Iron Bowl. We don’t watch college football in the South. We live college football in the South. The entire season is always a big event. It’s a good excuse to eat a bunch of junk food and have a few adult beverages. πŸ™‚ My drink of choice for this season is 1 part Creme de Banana, 1 part Malibu Rum, and 1 part pineapple juice. I found the recipe on Pinterest and I love it. I’m not a big drinker but I do have at least one of these during every Alabama game. Oh, and Alabama is the #1 team in the country right now. πŸ™‚

noh8The election –

I could devote an entire blog post on nothing but current events in America but I’m not. There are 3 subjects I refuse to discuss publicly and politics is one of them. If you’ve followed me at all you know my thoughts on equality. Hell, I write mostly gay romance. Since the election I’ve been dragged into conversations I didn’t want to be part of and even accused of being part of the final outcome simply because I live in the deep South. I’ve done blog posts in the past about the silly southern stereotype so I won’t do that here now. I will say this – not all southerners are racist and homophobic. I cheered right along with the rest of the world when same sex marriage became legal in the United States and typed a long blog post about it on my old Blogger site. I’m just as concerned as everyone else is over the outcome of the presidential election. That’s all I’ll say about that.

What else?

Congrats to Dre, who won the giveaway at On Top Down Under Book Reviews last month. Dre was one of my very first readers so I was thrilled that she was chosen as the winner. Congrats again to On Top Down Under on 4 years!

willy-butt-head-magnetI have a couple of magnets (pictured) from that giveaway left over that I need to figure out what to do with. I was thinking maybe doing my own giveaway here that will also be pushed on Twitter and Facebook. What do you guys think? Granted, some might not want a magnet of an elf mooning the camera, but those who’ve read the series just might. I have one on my fridge. πŸ˜‰ When I was ordering swag for that giveaway my best friend insisted I create something with a Willy butt head quote. If you’ve read the books you know that Willy calls people (mostly Santa Claus) that often. I had a blast creating it and I’ve been asked by some readers about making them available. So, why not a giveaway? I’ll decide the particulars and update on here when I get back in town next week.

I can’t end this without thanking everyone for reading Blake and Seth’s story. I know the season is still young but I’m in awe over the amount of pre-orders the story had and how many people have already read it. Not just ‘Blake’ but the first two in the series as well. When I wrote Willy the Kinky Elf & His Bad-Ass Reindeer I never dreamed that anyone would like my warped version of the North Pole. There are no words for how thrilled I am each time I get a message from someone saying they’ll never look at Santa and his elves and reindeer the same again. The true story of the North Pole had to be told by someone, right? πŸ˜€

To celebrate the official start of the holiday season, all three of the ‘Willy’ books will be half-price on Wednesday (the 23rd) and Thanksgiving day (the 24th) at All Romance Ebooks (ARe). The sale price will only be at ARe, not the other e-tailers. The links will not show the sale until Wednesday but I’ll be traveling that day and likely unable to promote at all until much later that evening or the next day.

That’s enough for now. I hope everyone is doing well and thank you also for the kind words I received after my last blog post. I have the best fans in the world.

Until next time,

Blake the Rogue Reindeer & His Cocky Human (‘Willy’ #3): Big Giveaway & Update

Congrats to DRE who won the giveaway!

I’m going to start this post with the good stuff – a giveaway. Who doesn’t love a giveaway? πŸ™‚

To help celebrate On Top Down Under Book Reviews’ 4 year anniversary and the November 1st release of Blake the Rogue Reindeer & His Cocky Human, I stopped by with a post about Willy’s world.Β Expect a bit of silliness about Willy and the gang and lots of goodies that I’ll be giving away to one person who comments on the post. What goodies, you ask? The winner will be given a choice of either signed paperbacks or e-copies of Willy the Kinky Elf & His Bad-Ass Reindeer and Evan the Virgin Reindeer & His Sexy Buck, a ‘Willy’ magnet, an ‘Evan’ magnet, a ‘Blake’ magnet, a reusable bag with Blake’s cover on it, an ‘I touch my elf” key chain, a “Santa is a butt head!” magnet, courtesy of Willy, and a ‘Santa Claus Naughty Member’ postcard. The giveaway will run from now until the end of the month, so make sure you pop in and leave a comment on the giveaway post and congratulate On Top Down Under for 4 great years! You can find the post here.

Blake the Rogue Reindeer & His Cocky Human

As I’ve already said all over the place, this story never would’ve happened had a fellow author not started a little campaign for me to write it after he read Evan the Virgin Reindeer & His Sexy Buck (‘Willy’ #2) and fell for the bad guy. I know, right? πŸ™‚ Blake Simpson was a major jerk in that story and was never supposed to be seen or heard from again. If you’re interested in seeing what was said that pushed me to give Blake his story, you can find the Goodreads review here. The thought was put in my head and it didn’t take long before I had the entire story, from start to finish, planned out.Β I knew what I wanted to say. I knew who all the players would be and even the so-called drama of the story. Heck, I even knew exactly how Blake would atone for all his bad actions. Easy enough, right? Well, not quite.

That’s what I’ve shared publicly about the making of the 3rd installment in Willy’s world.

Here’s what I haven’t…

aaarghhI wrote 10,000 words of this story without missing a beat. This was back in December of last year, I think? Everything was flowing smoothly until one day it just wasn’t. I’d had to change one of the characters 3 times. It was a back and forth thing that had me throwing my hands up on the story for a little while. Oh, I was still going to write it. No way was I not going to. But those 10,000 or so words sat on my laptop for around 7 months. I’d go into the manuscript, get frustrated, then get out of it again. I felt pressure because here it was July and I was only a few short months from publishing a story that was only a third or fourth of the way done. I wasn’t blank (re: writer’s block), but it just wasn’t coming together for me. Nothing I did would change that. I said above that I knew exactly what the story would be about from start to finish. That didn’t change. I knew what I wanted to say but I just couldn’t get the words on the manuscript to come together.

addictionA few months ago I wrote a blog post that briefly covered addiction in the ‘personal’ section of the post. I’d stated that I’d already lost one close family member to it and that I was very close to losing another. I lost that person in late July – a little over a month after that post was published. And strangely, what is Blake’s story about? Addiction. That wasn’t planned, by the way. When I wrote Blake’s character in ‘Evan’ I added his addictions as the cause of his actions because my original version of him was not redeemable in any way. I’m not making light of what caused him to do what he did. What I’m saying is that the original Blake Simpson was so bad that I had to go back and rewrite him completely because the series is written to be (mostly) light and he wasn’t light in any way. Suffice it to say that had I kept him as he was there would be no Blake the Rogue Reindeer & His Cocky Human.

After my family member’s death, I was told by a fellow author to WRITE. Even if it was the worst stuff I’ve ever written and would never been seen by anybody but me… just write. And my best friend, who I’ll go to my grave being thankful for, agreed. Anything that would help me through it, you know? Writing has always been my therapy but I didn’t think it would work this time. Strangely, it did. Days after the funeral I again pulled up the manuscript for ‘Blake’. I expected to have the same, “Here we go again.. ugh!” attitude that had plagued me for months over the story. That didn’t happen. I reread the first 10,000 words and started writing and didn’t stop. I wrote so much that by the time 3 or 4 days had passed I had written over 30,000 new words and typed THE END. Not just typed those two words, but was very happy with what I’d written. The final word count is close to 42,000 words. I’ve had what I call my crazy writing frenzies in the past where I’ve written one short story after another over a period of days. What I’ve not ever done is what I did with Blake and Seth’s story. As messed up as my mind was over the death in my family, things still clicked with these guys that hadn’t in the months prior. The story was coming together so quick I couldn’t type the words fast enough.

grief-one-day-at-a-timeI honestly don’t know how I was able to string two sentences together, much less write as much as I did during those few days. I’m not complaining. This world saved me in a way I never could’ve anticipated and I’ll forever be grateful for it. I hope you all enjoy the story. It has the silly moments you’ve learned to expect from Willy and the others, but there are also a few serious ones as well. I started the story wondering how on Earth I’d be able to redeem Blake and ended up loving him before it was over. I hope you all feel the same.

Dealing with another loss is a day by day thing. Maybe someday I’ll devote more to that on here but I’m just not able to right now.

The rest of 2016 –

In the past I’ve blogged about updates of other stories. Some are even completed and really close to being published. However, in the coming weeks I will only be focusing on Blake the Rogue Reindeer & His Cocky Human. My apologies to those who are waiting on specific stories I’ve blogged about (Finding Alex, for one) but I’m simply not in the right frame of mind at this point to devote to those releases. That may change in the coming weeks. If so, I’ll let you know. I hope you understand. It’s not completing the stories. I think I could do that without a problem at this point. It’s everything that goes into getting a book ready to publish – editing, covers (that I personally create), and lots of other things that go on in the background.

300-x-450-blake-coverIf you’ve followed me to this point you know that I’m not really one to get too personal publicly. I try to keep things light as much as I can. I’m hoping I’m providing ‘light’ in Blake and Seth’s story. I’m so damn proud of these guys and there are no words for how much I adore Blake now. The story could bomb with readers (though I REALLY hope it doesn’t) and that wouldn’t take away how thankful I am for their story… and them helping me to get through a very difficult time in my life. And to add to that? Installment #4 has already had 6,000 words written. That’s over a year in advance to those who are counting. πŸ™‚ There’s something about that crazy world that’s good for me at the moment and I’m going to run with it while I can.

In Closing –

I’m good. Really! My best friend and family won’t let me have down moments for long and I’m not one to sit and dwell if I’m able to focus on other things. Β A lot of you have been with me from the very beginning so I felt you should know a little about what’s been happening behind the scenes over the past few months.

I’ve said this before but again it bears repeating – thank you to every person who has asked for more of my warped Christmas world. You embraced my kooky version of Santa and his wife (and the others) and there are no words for how much that means to me.

For the blurb, pre-order links, and more information about Blake the Rogue Reindeer & His Cocky Human, you can check out my last blog post here. The official release date is November 1st. Thank you to all who’ve already pre-ordered it. You guys rock! πŸ™‚

And to those who have an ARC of the story – yes, it’s okay to publish your reviews before the release date. I’ve already gotten one amazing one that you can find here. Β I just ask that you please not give away Seth’s secret or other spoilers. The secret may not be that big of a deal to some in the grand scheme of things but it plays a bit part in pretty much everything that happens in the story in regards to him and Blake.

Until next time,

~Candi Kay

Blake the Rogue Reindeer & His Cocky Human Has Been Released!

Hello, all.

I’m happy to announce that the 3rd installment of the Willy the Kinky Elf & His Bad-Ass Reindeer series is now available at all the major e-tailers! The title is Blake the Rogue Reindeer & His Cocky Human. If you read #2 in the series, Evan the Virgin Reindeer & His Sexy Buck, you’re already familiar with one of the main characters in the new story, Blake Simpson. Blake was a very bad man, um, reindeer in that one. He did everything in his power to destroy not only Christmas, but poor virginal Evan Vickers as well. This is my crazy version of the North Pole so of course all worked out well in the end for Reindeer Evan. He got his sexy reindeer and they’re now living happily ever after. For Blake, not so much.

Blake the Rogue Reindeer & His Cocky Human picks up eleven and a half months after everything went down last Christmas. It’s now the middle of December and Blake is given a chance by the Chief Reindeer to make amends for some of his past wrongs. The problem? He’ll have to babysit a special guest of Santa’s at the North Pole during the 2 weeks leading up to Christmas. Not just any guest, but a human. You see, Blake’s not fond of them. Humans, I mean, but a deal is a deal so he’ll do what Chief Randy asked him to do. When he meets the human, Seth Grant, things take an odd turn. These two guys have met before and, boy oh boy, it didn’t end well. πŸ™‚

So, what to expect in this story? Lots of Elf Willy and Randy, a bit of drama as Blake is forced to face those he wronged last year, and – because this is a ‘Willy’ story – a bit of silliness and humor that only comes from being inside Willy’s world. All the other players from the first two books, not just Willy and Randy, are all here in their glory as well.

As for Seth Grant, aka the human, he’s probably one of my favorite characters ever. He’s adorable. Don’t take that to mean he’s a pushover for Blake. He most definitely is not. He gives as good as he gets. He was also based on the person who pushed me to write the story, fellow author, Devon McCormack. I changed a few details but the similarities will still be pretty obvious to those who know Devon. I hope you’ll all like Seth as much as I do.

I hope you’ll check it out!

I also have to send a huge shout out to every single person who has read this series up to now. ‘Willy’ wasn’t written to be the first in a series but I was asked by several readers to revisit the North Pole and give new characters their stories. There’s no greater compliment to an author than when they’re asked for more, so thank you! I look forward to revisiting this world every year and it’s all because of you, the readers of the books, who allow me to keep going in a series that wasn’t supposed to be a series.

Until next time,

~Candi Kay

From the world of Willy the Kinky Elf & His Bad-Ass Reindeer.

The North Pole isn’t exactly as it appears in fairy tales. It has the elves and Santa and his reindeer, but Santa and Mrs. Claus aren’t the jolly couple the world believes them to be. Far from it, actually. The reindeer are all shape-shifters who transform into gorgeous beings in human form and are respected by all.

Except Reindeer Blake Simpson, that is. Sure, he’s beautiful like the others, but all respect for him flew off with the snowflakes last Christmas. When the Chief Reindeer offers him a chance to redeem himself he jumps on it without hesitation. All he has to do is keep a special visitor occupied leading up to the busiest night of the year.

For the first time in history, an outsider will be allowed inside the North Pole. Not just any outsider, but a human and Blake Simpson has never been fond of them. But a deal is a deal. He’ll babysit the man and then get on with his life, now free of what caused him to self-destruct last year. When he meets Seth Grant sparks fly, and not just the good kind. Not only is he a human but he’s a cocky one who Blake has met before.

Sometimes the magic of the North Pole has a sense of humor. Could the rogue reindeer and cocky human actually be meant for each other? Or will they be over before they start as secrets of Blake’s past are revealed?

Nothing but Eye Candy #NSFW!

For the longest time my friend has been pushing me to do a blog post of nothing but eye candy. Due to things going on in my personal life over the past few weeks I’ve not been able to pop on here as much as I promised in the past. That will change soon. Really! I have all kinds of updates I’m eager to tell you guys about. Until then, I hope you like some of my favorite visuals. πŸ˜‰ This is only a few of the hundreds I’ve saved over time so expect more posts like this in the future.

Note that a majority of the photos and GIFs are NSFW so if you are offended by male nudity and sexual situations it’s probably best if you leave now.Β

Nice, um, kilt. πŸ˜‰

I’ve always had a thing for guys who wear glasses.

Well, I did say I love guys in glasses. *grin*

This one almost got me kicked off Pinterest. Can’t imagine why. *snort*

Move the hand, honey. πŸ˜€

This guy needs his own story. Don’t you agree?

Hey, look! A nekkid tree. I want one.

This guy is actually inspiration for an upcoming story. Look at him. He’s beautiful. And that hair…. if you’ve read any of my books you know that 99% of them have a main character with (usually longish) black hair. It’s one of my kinks.

Another one that got reported on Pinterest…

And another…

Well, hello there. πŸ˜‰ I want to see the full video.

And this one…

And this one…

I’ll do one with females soon. πŸ™‚

If you like what I’ve listed here check me out on Pinterest. Not all of these came from there – I get reported A LOT – but a majority did. My thanks to my friend for sharing some of these with me privately.

Until next time,

Christopher, College Encounters #1: New Release!

Christopher, College Encounters, #1.

Christopher is a young college student who is intelligent beyond his years. He started college when most of his peers were just starting high school. Now eighteen, he’s in his senior year and on the verge of applying for medical school. Chris isn’t like his classmates. A loner, he’s never quite fit in with others his age. This means no friends and no prospects.

Christopher is also a virgin. Horny and frustrated, he knows he has to hook up with somebody soon. There’s only so much satisfaction he can get from his right hand, you know? πŸ˜‰

I hope you enjoy Christopher’s little journey and that you’ll let me know what you think.

Note that this story is gay erotica with only a hint of romance. Check out more info in the blurb below. This is #1 of a new series that will be set around a fictional university. Each subsequent story will have all new main characters so they won’t have to be read in order unless you choose to.

How about that guy on the cover? I will shallowly admit that this story idea completely came to be when I saw this photo and knew I had to write a story around the model. Can you blame me? πŸ˜‰ He’s beautiful.

Christopher Cover - 800 x 1200 - FinalBlurb –

Christopher just wants to get laid. Nothing more. Nothing less. He doesn’t want romance – just sex.

While seeking out gay porn on the internet he stumbles across details about an exclusive sex club in his town. Convinced this is what he’s looking for, he works up the courage to go to the club a few days later. He almost turns back the way he came when he sees an intimidating bouncer standing outside the door. He’s one step from leaving when he’s ushered inside. Two members have seen Christopher on the security cameras and are eager to play with him – with conditions. He must wear a blindfold and vow that once the night is over he won’t show up at the club again. Nervously, he agrees.

Even blindfolded it doesn’t take long for him to recognize the voice of one of the men as someone he knows well. More turned on than he’s ever been in his life, he allows the man and his partner to do anything and everything to his body without complaint. When it’s over he’s guided out of the club and the blindfold is removed. Flying high, he knows he’ll have to hook up with those guys again, especially now that he’s certain that the one who took his virginity is his favorite professor. Will he embarrass himself when he’s forced to face him in class the following Monday? And does he dare risk going back to the club the following weekend, his promise be damned?

Christopher, College Encounters #1, is gay erotica and has a virgin, an age gap, mild BDSM, rough sexual situations, and group sex. Note that the BDSM in this story doesn’t follow strict protocols of the lifestyle. Keep that in mind before downloading this book.

Pray for Orlando

I wasn’t going to type a post about the tragedy that occurred in Orlando. I’ve spent the past week mourning along with the rest of the world and I know my words are just that – words.

I could never adequately express my utter heartbreak over what happened. I had to turn the TV off because it got to be too much. If I, a total stranger, am this heartbroken, imagine the family members and the victims.

You go to a club to have a good time. You go to have a few drinks, hang out with friends, and maybe dance a little.

You don’t go in wondering if you should’ve said goodbye to your family before you walked through the door of the club.

You don’t go in expecting to watch people die around you.

You don’t go in wondering if you’re going come out of it all alive.

Nobody should fear a night on the town.

Nobody should fear being harmed because of who they are or who they love.

I’m angry.

I’m sad.

This shouldn’t have happened.

Parents should not be burying their children.

There’s a Mr. Rogers quote that’s been going around that I’ve seen many times over the years. It says when there’s a tragedy, look for the helpers. I’m paraphrasing, but yes, look for the helpers… all the people who have come out to show their support for the LGBT community. Look for the ones who risked their own lives to save others. Look for them all… the ones who donated blood, those who gave someone the shirt off their back to try to save them… the first responders, the average citizen who didn’t know what they could do to help but knew they had to do something….

I’m not giving attention to the bastard who did it. He doesn’t deserve space on my blog.

Remember the victims. Remember the families and loved ones. Continue to remember them when the media coverage goes away. Their pain won’t disappear simply because cameras are no longer on them.

I’ll end with this…Β If you pray, whisper a prayer for those lost and the families and loved ones they left behind.

Lots of Updates, Paperbacks, Eye Candy & a Bit of a Rant – NSFW-ish

Eros Quote - 05242016

I know it’s been awhile since I’ve done a blog post after promising I’d do more. I’ll be covering a lot in this one so my apologies in advance for the length. I’ve added a bit of eye candy to help with that apology. *grin*

Thank You –

Sexy Guy #1 06062016I want to thank everyone who stopped by during my 2nd publishing anniversary celebration. I have finally fought with CreateSpace and I’m now happy to offer paperbacks of most of my stories. At the moment only Taking Lance, Eros, Willy the Kinky Elf & His Bad-Ass Reindeer and Evan the Virgin Reindeer & His Sexy Buck are actually available for sale in paperback. The others (with the exception of The Guy in the Coffee Shop and My Son’s Girl & My Son’s Friends – both of which are much too short to be available in anything other than e-format) will go live on Amazon and the other sites when I’ve officially approved the paperback proofs. I’m waiting on quite a few to be delivered as I type this. Of the 8 I’ve been working on, I have to say I’m most proud of the two in the ‘Willy’ series, but mainly because they’re very bright colored and look fantastic (in my opinion) in paperback form.

Shower Guy GIFAnother thing about the paperbacks – if I used a snippet of your review on the back of any of them, I’ll send you a signed copy of the book if you want one.Β If some of your words are on there, you should have a copy, right? πŸ˜‰ Those I’ve used will be contacted by me at some point in regards to it. Of if you see the back of the book on Amazon and see your review, you’re more than welcome to contact me privately with your information. I’ve been off social media quite a bit over the past few weeks so I’m trying to play catch-up.

Works-in-Progress –

I’ve been working on the 3rd installment of ‘Willy’ for the past few weeks. This will be bad boy Blake’s story. I’m very happy with the story so far but things tend to change as time passes. I still have a little bit of time to work on it before the release date. I’m also still steadily working on Finding Alex (#4 in the Taking Lance series). Both of these books should be published by early November.

Also, I will be revamping and adding content to in the coming weeks. If you’ve read the ‘Willy’ series, you know what I’m talking about. πŸ˜€ There’s been all kinds of naughty stuff going on in the North Pole during the off-season. RS, our resident gossip, is eager to spill.

Upcoming –

I have a new series that will also be published in the coming weeks. The series itself is titled College Encounters, with each story only being individually titled with the main character’s name. The first one is Christopher, so the title will be College Encounters: Christopher. I’ve already done the cover for that and #2 (title to be announced later). The cover model on the cover of Christopher’s… I have no words. I actually found the photo first (strictly by accident) and wrote the story completely around this guy. I can’t wait for you all to see him, um, the cover. πŸ˜‰ Each book will be centered around a fictional university. Not all books will be about college kids. The professors and other staff get in on the action too. These books will vary from gay romance and/or erotica to straight romance and/or erotica, to everything in between. If you don’t read in a specific genre, no biggie. These stories will only have the university and certain characters in common but can all be read as standalones.

Long Haired GuyThere’s another series that I’ve been writing – I’ve written 4 stories so far – that I’m trying to figure out what to do with. The first 3 are straight erotica but #4 is gay erotica. I’m really enjoying writing these books but I have to decide if I’ll be publishing them as Candi Kay or maybe use another pen name. Undecided at this point.

Another Christmas story that will be published (likely in early November) isΒ The Cute Elf and His Mall Santa. This has nothing AT ALL to do with the above-mentioned Willy series. It’s contemporary and is about a cute guy who does the elf thing at the local mall every holiday season. He ends up falling in lust and love with the newest mall Santa Claus. Santa (aka Sam) has a couple of rambunctious kids who also play a part. While it’s gay erotica, it’s more of a romance that centers quite a bit on family. This story was complete last year but something was bugging me about it so I didn’t publish it. It will definitely be out in time for the upcoming holiday season.

Then there are An Unlikely Romance and Just Friends. Both of these are gay erotic romance and were completed over a year ago. I’m determined to get them out there before 2016 is over.

I’m trying very hard to not bombard you folks with a bunch of stories at once but I’ve finally come to the conclusion that if I’m going to write them, I won’t be hiding them away any longer. Until 2 years this past April I wrote dozens of stories but kept them hidden. Those days are over. I’ve also discovered that a lot of my readers aren’t into certain things I write but are into some of my others. I want to keep y’all happy so I hope I always have something available that you’ll be interested in even if some of my others aren’t your thing.

Personal –

I also want to thank every single person who sent me private messages or emails thanking me for getting a little personal in regards to my devastation over the loss of Prince. I don’t put myself out there much, as I’m a very private person. However, I couldn’t let his passing go and say nothing. He was a very important part of my life and the post I wrote on the day of his death says that, I believe. I also got a couple of messages on Twitter about that post in recent days – since his cause of death has been made known – that were downright nasty.

So here I am getting personal again when I swore I’d keep personal stuff out of all things Candi Kay….

Nicest PeopleUnless you’ve been close to someone with an addiction, you have no right to judge one way or another. Do you honestly believe that people pick up that first drink or pill or whatever thinking, “Hmm… I’m choosing to get addicted to these things…”? Of course not! I’ve had 2 people very close to me in the real world who never in a million years would’ve chosen their addictions. It happened gradually. I lost one of them to that addiction and I’ll go to my grave wishing I could’ve done more. But I couldn’t, you see. I tried for years. At least this person knew they had a problem and tried very hard to overcome it. The other? Let’s just say that sadly I can see myself losing another person in my life because they’re convinced that because a doctor prescribes it then it’s okay.

By all means send me your thoughts on anything you like. However, don’t send me nasty messages expecting me to remain silent simply because I write and publish books. I keep silent on other things but I won’t when it comes to something I’m very close to. I didn’t know Prince outside of his music, but I know the horrors of addictions. I’ve seen the effects they have on people and those close to them. The worst day of my life was the day I lost someone whose addiction was bigger than them. I won’t sit back and read a slew of bullshit about how people with addictions are lazy or whatever. I will come back at you and it won’t be kind. This also applies to other things. If you’re homophobic, keep your thoughts to yourself. If you have hateful opinions about specific disorders, again, I’m not interested in what you have to say about it.

I don’t discuss politics with anyone outside of my very inner circle. I don’t discuss religion or any of the other things that are such hot topics for debate these days. I won’t go back and forth with anyone over those, regardless of how many times I’m pushed. Bring up the other stuff – mentioned in the above paragraphs – and I’ll gladly have a conversation with you. Just don’t get pissed off if you don’t like what I have to say.

I know I’m being harsh here, but if I posted screenshots of some of the things I’ve seen you’d understand why I’ve gotten angry over it all.

Enough of that.

Travis 6My New Site –

As I’ve said in other posts since this site went live, if you subscribe to email alerts for my posts I will send you a book of your choice – in whatever format you prefer. However, I have to be told what book and what format. Most have contacted me privately but some haven’t. I don’t believe in bugging readers so if you’ve subscribed – or plan to – let me know which book and what format, please. This applies to e-books only. Send me an email to, a PM on Facebook, or on Goodreads.

Also, if you send me a friend request on Facebook, let me know you’re one of my readers or subscribers or how you found me. I’ve gotten some REALLY strange requests lately so I’m being a bit more careful with who I accept and who I don’t. I spend more time on my personal Candi Kay page than I do my author one. If you’re not interested in friending me, there’s a follow button on both as well if you’re interested. I often post pics of nice eye candy. πŸ˜‰

Travis 5I accept everyone on Goodreads unless you’re underage. I’m not on there much, but I do get message alerts and friend requests via email. I always pop on there when I get those.

I will keep the promo going for a few weeks longer, as the site is barely 2 months old and I’ve kinda neglected it since it went live. This, of course, is bad really because I put a lot of work into the new site.

I think I’ve said enough for today. Sorry for not posting anything for awhile and then slamming you guys with a long one.

I hope everyone is doing well. Thanks to every person who has stuck around. Every single one of you is amazing.

Until next time,

~Candi Kay
